Brad Pitt Reportedly Builds An $80,000 Gerbil Home

Usually, I don’t report on celebrity gossip, and in fact, I’ve sat on this news for a couple weeks. But as it is gerbil-related, how can I not post about this??

Last month, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt adopted an unknown number of gerbils for their kids. A couple weeks later, reports appeared, stating that Brad Pitt had taken his love of architecture and built the gerbils an $80,000 home.

True, most of us don’t have $80,000 to spend on our gerbils. But the Gerbil Tips page has some ideas for ways that you can keep your gerbils happy and entertained, even without tens of thousands of dollars!

Wow! Too bad I don't have $80,000 to spend on my gerbils! :) I've often thought about how fun it would be to make houses and tunnels and playhouses for gerbils that would lead all around the house, however! But for now Sandy and Black Pearl have to be content with what they have. :)

I know what you mean! I’m always trying to come up with new ways to spoil my gerbils! Sometime, I should try to find the photos of where my first pair of gerbils lived. They were horribly spoiled. :)

You know what I think is interesting, though? Gerbils are so much like small children. You can spend a fortune buying them the neatest toys at the pet shop... and they’ll barely look at the toys. They prefer playing with the box that the toy came in! :-D

It’s just like my two-year-old nephew. I’ll get him an expensive toy, and he’ll toss it aside and make a fort or a toy car out of the box the toy came in. :)

We could all learn a lot from both children and gerbils, I think. We don’t need a lot of money or the nicest things to be happy. We just need people who love us... and our own creativity and ability to find joy in the things around us.

Gerbils are experts at that type of simple living!
