Decorate Your Gerbils' Tank With Leftover Wrapping Paper

wrapping paper background for a gerbil tankOne of the gerbil Christmas tips I posted yesterday is a pretty big project, so this morning, I thought I'd share something simpler that you can do for your gerbils this holiday weekend.

Almost everyone has leftover scraps of wrapping paper lying around at this time of year. Hang onto some of the small pieces of wrapping paper that are left, because you can tape them to the back side of your gerbils' tank as a decoration and help your gerbils celebrate the holidays!

In this photo, you can see Nellie and Maeby enjoying their festive snowman tank background. :)

If you have a great tip for holiday decorations or gifts for your gerbils, please send them to me, and I might use them on the blog this week!

One things i have noticed about my gerbils lately is how long my gerbils claws have grown, should i be doing anything to the claws i.e. clipping, or should i leave them as they are?

Hi Janey,

Thanks for the New Year's wishes! We did have a wonderful New Year's here at Twin Squeaks! I hope you and your gerbils had a great holiday as well!

Do you have any photos of your gerbils' nails? If you do and want to send them to me at gerbil-girl@twinsqueaks.com, I'll be happy to take a look at them and let you know what I think!

Hope sometimes has to have her nails trimmed, because at her age, she doesn't always keep them trimmed well on her own. But she's the first gerbil I've had who's ever had to have the vet trim her nails!

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for leaving a comment. Yes, Herman and Sebastian both came home last Sunday! :)

I will be posting some more info about them on the blog this weekend, but in the meantime, you can see some photos of the boys back at home in their photo album. All but one of the photos on pages 7 and 8 were taken after they came home.

It's so great to have Herman home again, and Sebastian is even more adorable in person than he was in photos! I'll write more about them later today on the blog. :)
