Twin Squeaks Gerbils

Gerbil Tip of the Month

To prevent a water bottle from dripping and leaking onto the bedding when you travel with your gerbils, flip the water bottle upside down until the car stops.
It's not a good idea to leave your gerbils' water bottles hanging when you travel with your gerbils. As the car hits small bumps on the road or turns corners, a water bottle will often drip or leak. By the time you reach your destination, the bedding can be quite wet.

A better way to travel with your gerbils is to flip the water bottle upside down in its water bottle guard during the trip. Then give your gerbils a small piece of carrot, a grape, or a slice of apple. (Make sure you wash the fruit or vegetable before you give it to your gerbils.)

By giving your gerbils a small bit of vegetable or fruit, they have a source of moisture when they get thirsty. Then when you stop to refuel the car or to find a place to sleep for the night, you can flip your gerbils' water bottles back over so that they can drink from them again.
